Disney World Day Five: Disney's Hollywood Studios

We left out this morning at 8:30 for Disney’s Hollywood Studios aka “The park formerly known as MGM.”

After stopping for a few pictures we headed straight for Toy Story Mania and got fast passes with a return time of 11:20. Matt, JJ, Kara, and John went to ride Tower of Terror and Rock-n-Rollercoaster while Dad, the kids, and I met characters.

They joined back up with us a little before 10:30 and we all went to ride the Great Movie Ride but it was closed down so we went to watch the Playhouse Disney show. Anne loves this show and she clapped and sang along.

After the show Anne got to meet the Little Einsteins characters.

After a scare where Matt lost his work cell phone we all used our fast passes to ride Toy Story Mania. I beat John 97,500 to 90,400. Matt was the big winner though. We made our way to the Backlot Express for lunch, stopping to meet an army man along the way.

Annie didn't want to have anything to do with him until after she saw Matt and Joel meet him then she felt it was safe enough to approach him.

After lunch Dad and I sat with the kids while the others rode Star Tours. On our way to watch Muppets 3-D we met Lightening McQueen and Mater.

Dad, John, Matt and I watched Muppets while Kara, JJ, and the kids rested. We all went to ride Great Movie ride next and we got the gangster driver this time. He’s my favorite. We were sitting in the front 2 rows so he joked with us a lot. After we left the ride Dad and Matt left to go back to the hotel room to watch the Cowboys game. Joel was asleep so the rest of us went to the ABC Commissary to snack and rest. Kara and JJ wanted to ride Rock-n-Rollercoaster again so we took the kids to the It’s Tough to be a Bug playground. It was super neat and Annie loved it but it was a nightmare to keep an eye on them so we didn’t stay long. When we left the Power Rangers were out so we stopped to meet them because Annie wanted their autograph even though she had no idea who they were.

We headed back up to the front and stopped on the way to meet Buzz and Woody. It was a super long line but it moved pretty fast. I love all the props they have around for your pictures.

We met Kara and JJ at the hat and we all went to watch Beauty and the Beast. Both kids really enjoyed it. Annie made sure to inform me though that it was not a real teapot up there but a person because she could see their feet. We stopped to eat before Fantasmic at Rosie’s All American café. We got our spot for Fantasmic about 7:15. There were not any more middle spots left so we had to sit a little on the side. Dad and Matt’s game wasn’t over in time for them to make it back for the show. Joel loved it and clapped at all the explosions and fire.
