Disney World Day Four: Epcot

We didn't end up getting to Epcot until around 10:30 because we stopped at the front desk on the way to pick up our free Disney dollars. Matt ran to get up fast passes to Soarin while Kara & JJ got a stroller. Then we all stopped to take pictures by the fountain.

We rode Spaceship Earth next and we were very impressed with the new version. At some point in the ride they take your picture then they display you in different scenes on a little monitor in your vehicle. Here is Dad and John.
After the ride we stopped for lunch at the Electric Umbrella. We loved that you can refill your own drinks here. Next we headed to use our Soarin fast passes but before we rode we got a second set of fast passes to ride again later. John, Dad, Matt, and I rode it while Kara and JJ sat with the kids. Dad loved it. While Kara and JJ were riding the rest of us rode Living with the Land. Joel slept the whole time. Next we hopped aboard a clam shell and rode The Seas with Nemo and Friends. I must say there wasn't much to it and I won't waste my time on it in the future but I suppose it was an improvement on what was there before. John mentioned something about the Nemo Seagulls saying "Mike, Mike." we informed him they really were saying "Mine, Mine" and had a lot of fun teasing him about that.

We all watched Turtle Talk with Crust next. Annie sat with all the kids on the floor and she loved the show. Afterwards Dad, John, and Matt went to watch Honey I Shrunk the Audience while the rest of us rested while the kids played with the jumping fountains.

When we all joined back up we went to the Visa Meet and Greet in Innoventions. Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy were there. We got some great pictures and the alone time with the characters was well worth the long wait.
Matt even overcame his fear of costumed characters and had his picture taken.

We headed back to Soarin to use our other fast passes next. Again Dad, Matt, John and I rode while Kara and JJ sat with the kids. When we were done Kara and JJ decided they didn't want to ride because JJ was eager to get to some other rides. So we walked over to the other side of the park and got a fast pass for Test Track. Then I sat with the kids while everyone else rode Mission Space which only had a five minute wait. We had a snack and Annie enjoyed running through a mister that was by our bench. When they got off Mission Space we all went to ride Ellen's Energy Adventure because we had some time before we could use our fast passes. Annie was terrified of the dinosaurs and hid her head the whole time. They didn't bother Joel a bit. Next the kids put on their bathing suits and Dad watched them play in the water squirting up from the ground while the rest of us rode Test Track.
After the kids changed back into dry clothes we went to Mexico to eat. Somehow on the trek over there Dad got ahead of us and when we caught up he said "That's me, Speedy Bill." So the rest of the week whenever he was lagging behind we would yell to him "Hurry it up Speedy Bill." Mexico was delicious but really crowded. In fact all of the world showcase was really crowded, a result of the Food & Wine festival I guess. After eating we rode the Grand Fiesta Tour in Mexico. Adding the Three Caballeros definitely made this ride better. When we got off it was 8:15 so Kara & JJ went to ride Malestrom, Matt and Dad went to do some shopping in Germany then head back, and John and I took the kids to the 9:00 American Adventure show. As we walked through the World Showcase Annie walked beside Joel's stroller and held his hand telling him not to be scared because she was right there.

Shortly after the show started Joel got a really terrible diaper and we had to leave because we didn't have his bag. It was 9:20 and the park was already completely empty. We couldn't stop to get our free visa picture since we really needed to get back. I had given dad his before he left but turns out I didn't give him the photopass card so he had the man look through all the pictures from that day until he found ours because he really wanted his picture. Thankfully when we got to the bus stop a completely empty bus pulled up and both kids fell asleep on the ride back.
