Baby Dedication

This weekend we participated in the baby dedication celebration at our church. It was so special that it was during my first mother's day weekend as well. Our church makes a big deal out of baby dedication and a few weeks earlier we attended an orientation and recorded a video message to Kate. Friday night was the friends and family celebration in the pier. Before the service they played each family's video message. Then our children's pastor spoke, we had a photo slide show, each child was presented and the meaning of their name was read, and finally all the friends and family gathered to pray over each child and their parents.

Before the service Friday night we all met at one of our favorite restaurants, Joe Willys to eat.

Saturday was our presentation before the "big church". I know I have never been in front of that many people before! Pastor Steve called each family and then read the life verse each parent chose for their child. Kate did great. She just alternated between staring at Steve and looking back at the big screen. The verse we chose for Kate is Psalm 139:16 "Your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in Your book before one of them came to be."
